amazing Sandra Backlund

Sandra Backlund is amazing. She has been featured here before but we can't get enough. Her knitting style is too cool. Not to mention Tilda Swinton looks amazing in that dress.

Reef Knot a Sidney artist collective is hosting a city wide knitting tag called I Heart Kings Cross. The project was open to all knitters in Sidney and will debut in October. I think this is a great project and would love to see something like this happen in the US. Maybe Ravelry could organize something cool like this or I could just move to Sidney Australia.
Photos as promised!

This gown is gorgeous! Hail to the queen! Made by knitwear designer Jemma Sykes. She designed this gown, "Elizabeth", for Butcher Couture. The Elizabeth is made from 100% organic wool and was dyed naturally in soft pink for the "wear it pink" breast cancer fundraiser in October 2007. Any woman would look sweet wearing that dress. If you really want one, you better get those knitting needles out and start purling.

Sandra Backlund is a knit apparel designer that is bad ass. These pics are from her latest collection for fall 2009. This collection is machine made and very intricate. Sandra collaborated with Maglificio Miles (an Italian knitwear manufacturing company) to create this master piece collection. You certainly must check out her website. All of her collections are amazing and inspirational. Her style is so futuristic and robotic which makes the knits look like metal which is very cool. Thumbs up!

This dress is so crazy fun. One of our knit peeps found this little knit number on Found Shit. It's got a lot of personality, right? Now I want a cheeseburger for lunch. Damn it!

Have you seen this knit group called Wool And The Gang? Hotness. In there own words they are "a gang of knitters, guys and girls from 7 to 77 years old, all tied together by a piece of yarn… Hello to funky, fun knitting, or simply chic and basic." WATG sells a line of wool yarn made in Peru. It looks really cool.

I really like what they have to offer the knit community, cool, fresh, hot knitting. The gang, consist of stylists, photographers, graphic designers and world travelers. Their site is fun and has a modern urban feel which I love. The WATG blog is just full fun knit hotness. Finally knitting is cool!

I can't stop drooling. This shop is beautiful. I would go totally go broke in there. This is how every craft store should look, stuffed full of yummyness. I saw this pic on flickr uploaded by Qusic. These photos are from her shop in Germany called CS Quiltdesign.

Love these bangles! Each color just gives me "Spring Fever". It's time to kiss winter goodbye and start celebrating what spring has to offer, bright colors and fun knitted accessories. Check out Fiberfads on etsy where I found these little treats.
